I am recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a well – known manufacturer based in Lancaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated finance professional to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
• Assist with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Analyse production costs and contribute to cost control initiatives
• Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting

About You

• AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or a similar environment
• Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of accounting systems
• High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
• Proactive, organised, and able to meet deadlines
• A team player with strong communication skills
